Prototype 1
This was our first prototype. We used two motors with two wheels on both. We used a 2:1 gear ratio to give us more power. Then we put smaller wheels in the front. We then tested this. We easily made it up the first and second slope. Then we came to the third slope and had trouble. So we decided that we had to weigh it down more.
Prototype 2
On our second prototype we tried to weigh down the front a little more. We added a more peices to the front and added a motor with two wheels. But to have two wheels on the front we had to get rid of two in the back. Becasue of the loss of the wheels we made a larger gear ratio of 3:1. We again ran into the same problem as the first one. We had no problem with the first two ramps again but as soon as we hit the third. It strugled to move up the third one again. So we realized we had to weigh the back of the robot down.
